Privacy policy

1. Overview

This page explains what happens to personal data when you visit frankschwab.de. It describes the system that is actually in use on this website, not a generic template. The site is deliberately simple: there is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party service running in your browser.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany, on servers in Germany. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that the server records in log files: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system version. This happens for every website and is necessary to deliver the page and to keep the server secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating the site reliably. These logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period and are not combined with any other data by us. A data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) is in place with STRATO.

4. No cookies, no tracking, no analytics

This website sets no cookies for visitors and uses no analytics or tracking of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no social media plugin. No consent banner is therefore required, because nothing is placed on your device that would need consent. A cookie is set only in one case, described in section 8.

5. Fonts and images

All fonts, images and stylesheets are stored on this website's own server and are delivered from frankschwab.de. No fonts are loaded from Google or from any other external provider, so your IP address is not transmitted to third parties when a page is displayed.

6. Contact by email

The contact buttons on this site open your own email programme with a prepared subject line. No form data passes through the website and nothing is stored here. When you write, your message and your address reach Frank Schwab's mailbox directly and are stored there for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and thereafter for as long as legal retention rules require. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the contact concerns a possible or existing engagement, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

7. Newsletter

You can subscribe to occasional emails using the form on this website. This is how it works:

  • What is stored: your email address, the date and time of your signup, the consent text shown at that moment, and the IP address used for the signup. Nothing else. No name is requested.
  • Where it is stored: in a database on this website's own STRATO hosting in Germany. No newsletter provider, mailing platform or other third party receives your address, and no data leaves this hosting.
  • Double opt-in: after signing up you receive one email with a confirmation link. Your address is only added to the list when you open that link. If you do not confirm, the entry stays inactive and is deleted periodically. This procedure documents your consent.
  • Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • Withdrawing consent: every email contains an unsubscribe link that works with one click, and you can also write to Frank@FrankSchwab.de at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
  • Deletion: when you unsubscribe, your address is marked as unsubscribed and removed from the mailing list. On request it is deleted from the database entirely.
  • Sending: the newsletter itself is written and sent by Frank Schwab. Confirmation and unsubscribe emails are sent from the mail server belonging to this domain at STRATO.

8. The administration area

The area at /admin/ is used by Frank Schwab to publish articles. It sets a single session cookie for the person logging in. Visitors to the website never receive this cookie.

9. Links to other websites

This site links to external websites, for example LinkedIn, Amazon, 3signals and the companies named in the portfolio section. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that website applies. No content from those sites is embedded here, so they receive no data from your visit unless you click through.

10. Your rights

You have the right to information about the data stored about you, to correction, to deletion, to restriction of processing, to object to processing and to data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). A request by email to Frank@FrankSchwab.de is enough. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority; for Baden-Württemberg this is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.

11. Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise it by the https at the start of the address bar. Data you send while it is active cannot be read by third parties in transit.

This policy describes the technical setup as implemented in August 2026. If features are added later, for example analytics or an embedded booking tool, this text must be updated to match. As with any legal text, a review by German legal counsel before publication is recommended.
